Most of us obsess over historical figures and the actors who portray them through their extraordinary performances.
However, we have no idea about how they were in real life.
We agree that it is very difficult to achieve 100% accuracy while displaying a historical figure through a real-life person. Because even a minor difference can change the whole appearance. Despite this fact, directors of the movies were really appreciated for how they molded actors into historical figures.
Take a look:
#1. Xerxes I in ’300′
The historical figure of the Persian king Xerxes I is portrayed by the actor Rodrigo Santoro. It is believed that the personality of this historical portrait was quite debatable. This is because of the uncertainty in his nature which was stated by the historians. Some said he was an experienced and wise warrior, whereas, the others said he was arrogant and narrow-minded. In the movie, director decided to portray both of his natures to add more curiosity for the viewers. Not to mention, his wardrobe in the movie was really eye-catching.
#2. Alexander III Of Macedon (Alexander The Great) In ’Alexander’
Colin Farrell has portrayed the historical figure of Alexander III. However, critics were seemed to be not very happy with this portrayal and the movie. This is because there were many historical imprecisions, which left the viewers a little frustrated. Moreover, the appearance of Colin was quite different than the real historical figure, wasn’t it?
#3. The Young Salvador Dali In ’Little Ashes’
We admit that Robert Pattinson’s appearance looks quite different in reality, but he did his best in portraying the image of the eccentric and brilliant artist, the young Dali.
